I am a 2021 5'9" 160lbs defensive back that played at Charlotte Christian School in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our team ended the season 6-1 and 3-1 in our conference. Most importantly, despite a very unusual and challenging fall season due to the covid 19 pandemic we accomplished our pre-season goal to win our 4th consecutive state championship. I attribute this resilience to our no quit, no excuses mentality. I am very thankful to have been able to make a contribution the last three seasons and earn my 3rd championship ring. This season reinforced a key life lesson for me. Control what I can control and always be prepared for my opportunity because nothing is ever guaranteed. According to MAXPREPS up until the championship game I had one interception, one pass deflected and averaged 6.2 tackles/game as the starting strong safety. I have worked hard on improving tackling and it has paid off with 74% of my total tackles being solo tackles. I know my individual stats improved through the championship game but honestly individual stats are not something I think about. Rather my number one goal was to make our team better and win another championship. In addition to starting at strong safety and I can also play any of the defensive back positions. I have also made a contribution on special teams. I was named CISAA 1st team All-Conference and NCISAA 1st Team All-State for the 2020 season. In my Junior Year I was named NCISAA 2nd Team All Conference.
Over my four years as a Charlotte Christian Knight I have learned that championships are not given or entitled but rather they are earned through hard work, focus, determination, accountability, humility, discipline, grit and perseverance. Opportunities for improvement should never be wasted. I know these core values are ingrained in who I am and I know they will help me make an impact at the next level as a student athlete. I have much to learn but also know I am accountable to myself, my brothers on the field and my coaches to never be satisfied with where I am today in my development. My head coach would be happy to talk to you further if you would like to learn more about my ability, character and leadership.
What makes me a good candidate for a program is that I am always going to work hard no matter what and lead other's to do the same. I will make sure to give my everything when it comes to doing a drill correctly and I will do it to the best of my ability every time. Effort and attitude are within my control and I know I will not be outworked. What makes me different from other recruits is that I am driven to compete at everything I do. I am also hungry to get better and show improvement everyday. Academically, what makes me different is that I have a 4.03 weighted cumulative GPA. My collegiate aspirations are that I would like to go to a school that I can get an engineering degree and also play competitive football at simultaneously. The opportunity to be a student athlete would be a privilege and one I would not take for granted.
