Playing football has made me a better person. It has improved my leadership skills which I was able to display as a captain my junior year. Football has not only made me physically tougher; it has made me mentally tougher as well. And, I have learned the importance of teamwork.
I’ve played football since the age of six years old and have learned so much over the years, especially the importance of being coachable and always willing to learn. Football has given me some amazing mentors and male figures to look up to that have helped shape me into the young man I am today, which was important since I was raised by a single mother.
Football has been preparing me for the real world. My goal after high school is to attend a 4-year college to receive my bachelors in Physical Education, which would help me to hopefully be able to coach someday and pour into the youth as my amazing coaches have done for me. I hope to continue to play football while working on my degree, so I can continue working towards my ultimate dream of one day playing in the NFL.
