Personal Statement
I know what you're probably thinking as you take a look at my profile. Who am I you may ask or what makes me different from any other athlete? The answer to that question is simple. I am committed, I am committed to God, I am committed to football, to school, my family, and my friends. When it comes to football trust that there is nothing that will stop me from getting the job done. My freshmen season wasn't all that great, but its something I can work off of, something me and my teammates can work of off.
I always try to portray myself as a leader, and lead when I can lead. I lead on and off the football field, whether it is setting up study groups or running an Honor Society, I will always get the job done. School always comes before football. I see it this way, no school means no football. You can't be on the football team if your failing classes. Even though I love football more than school, school is the only thing giving me the opportunity to play football. I'm always pushing myself by taking AP courses or going to the weight room daily.
I try to strengthen all aspects of my body, both mentally and physically. When I play football I play for my little sister who isn't with us anymore, I feel like I feel her presence in the crowd cheering me on, watching her big brother do what he loves. I see football as an opportunity to give back to the people who sacrifice for me and the communities that shaped me. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" - Philippians 4:13; written on my left wrist before every game. When the odds are bad, or there is no hole for me to run through, I just read my wrist and remember that I have a guide.
