DyMaggio Gilchrist '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Alex Gilchrist. I am a 6'0, 187lb Running Back and Strong Safety. I run a 4.38 forty and I have a 11.40 broad jump. I am from Fairmont High School, a small 2A school located in Fairmont, NC. I haven't had as much exposure as I'd like but hope my video and accomplishments help tell you a little bit about me.  My accomplishments include 2011 Three Rivers Conference Player of the Year, Robeson County Player of the Year, of Robeson County and Leading Rusher in the TRC. I have been a varsity starter for the past four years. I am the team captain and I take the fact that my teammates look to me for leadership and guidance very seriously. I am a highly motivated and dedicated contributor to my team. Losing is not an option but if the time comes when I have to admit defeat, I will show the other team much respect. I strive to make my mother proud. She is my biggest fan and whenever she is happy, I know I am doing the right thing. Football holds a large part of my heart and I try to do any and everything that will improve my skills. I'm not the most perfect kid or the most talented, but I will give you my all each and every game. I'm looking for a good medium-sized school with a great base for what will be my engineering career. I would love to play football at a D1 or D2 level, but as long as I'm playing ball, I will be happy. Money is kind of tight but my mother is willing to do anything to get the money I need for college. I've already applied for my FAFSA and my church has done a couple of fund raisers. I would really enjoy college and even if I dont get to play ball in school, I would just like to get the best education possible. I've got big dreams for myself and I know with the support of my family and the right football program, all of them will come true!
