Personal Statement
I have not yet reached my full potential.
My family has been a great influence in helping me as I strive to be the best student athlete I can become. My parents have set an example for success in academics and athletics in college and all of my siblings have set college as a goal. It is this support that has me confident that I will reach the goal of playing college football, obtain a degree in engineering, and attend graduate school. I started playing flag football when I was 5 years old and have played ever since. I would like to be part of the Northern Guilford tradition by winning a state championship and playing college football like many former Northern Guilford past players.
Several years ago my sister faced a serious illness and I had to learn to work more independently and realized I had the discipline, initiative, work ethic and desire to set goals and achieve them successfully. Academics have always been important to me and being selected as a Duke TIP scholar in middle school demonstrates my academic potential.
I want to attend the best school that will allow me to reach my full potential as both a student and an athlete.
