Personal Statement
My name is Dillon Burdette and I am #50/#41 on the Hickory Ridge High School Ragin' Bulls football team. I am a team captain and play LB/DE/TE/OL/P/ST. As a junior in 2009, I made All-Conference/All-County and led my team in all defensive categories and blocked kicks. I am MaxPreps 2009 #4 junior DE in the state of North Carolina in both tackles and sacks. I am a 2009 Rivals.com top 15 sack leader in the state of North Carolina. I have been identified by VTO Sports, ESPN Rise, Rivals.com, and Scout.com as one of the "Top 100" student-athletes in the Southeast Region. I am rated a 2 star by Rivals.com and they rate me the #5 weakside DE in the state of North Carolina. In the 2010 preseason, the Charlotte Observer ranked me in the top 5 players in my conference (the only defensive player) and the #1 defensive player in my conference. As a senior in 2010, I made All-Conference and All-Cabarrus County for the second year in a row. I also led my team in all defensive categories for the second year in a row. I am MaxPreps 2010 #1 DE in the state of North Carolina in tackles. I am a football and basketball Scholar Athlete. On my high school varsity basketball team I play power foward and center.
My goals are: 1) Make All-Conference and All-County as a junior. 2) Make All-Conference, All-County, All-Region, and All-State as a senior. As a senior, it is also my goal to play in several all-star games. 3) Get a scholarship offerered by a college. 4) Get a college education. 5) Excel in college football.
To summarize, it is my goal to get a college education and play football as long as possible. I love the sport of football and I love to play it. It is my passion! When my playing days are over I want to coach.
