Personal Statement
I have loved the sport of football since a young age, watching college and pro ball with my father. Football has taught me how to be a hard worker, how to be more confident in myself, how to work as part of a team and most importantly, how to be a better person. When I graduated from flag ball to tackle, I didn’t start my first few games. I had to listen, learn new techniques, and make adjustments to be able to play and be competitive. Once I earned the starting job, I was determined never to give it up. In high school, I didn’t get much playing time my freshman year. It was tough because I was playing for coaches who didn’t believe in me despite giving my all both on and off the field. Nevertheless, I went into sophomore year with a positive attitude. The coaching staff changed and they moved me to a different position. I welcomed the opportunity and earned a starting spot on the varsity squad. This journey taught me that hard work pays off in the long run. My ultimate goal is to play college ball and to stay around the sports world after football. I intend to graduate with my bachelor’s degree in either sports management, sports marketing or communications.
