Personal Statement

Those that have influenced me the most in life first are my parents. I'm thankful that I have been blessed to be in a home where I receive unconditional love, encouragement and belief and faith in Jesus Christ to know that I can do all things through my Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus who gives me strength everyday of my life to be successful in life. My parents have also instilled a good work ethic in me and an understanding that nothing that I would ever want out of life comes easy without preparation and hard work. They have taught and are still teaching me that I have to prepare for success in life.  The Coaches and Athletic Trainers that I've been blessed to have over the last three years have also been a constant encouragement to me.

I started playing Football at the age of seven. I fell in love with the sport when my dad took me to my first high school football game.  When the crowd cheered after that Wide Receiver scored and when the Middle Line Backer made the big hit, I wanted that to be me.  That's is when my journey began. I have learned through my experience of playing football how that strong work ethic my parents have instilled in me was and is going to help me.  And through the experience of playing football I understand better than ever that you have to work hard in this life to get to were you want to go and that nothing is given to you, it's earned. Football has helped me build my faith and trust on and off the field.

My academic goals  for high school is to graduate with a 3.5 GPA so that I can have an even better opportunity go to the college of my choice for Athletic Training or Agriculture. I have overcome many academic challenges due to not being diagnosed with a learning difference of ADD with a Processing issue that caused me to have a learning deficit until the third grade. My parents were bless three years later to find a doctor to test and diagnosed what the Processing Difference was my sixth grade year. That difference was Irlen Syndrome aggrevation and inflammation of my optical nerve by Florescent lighting that would cause a visual disturbance of printed numbers or words. Often causing me to only see one or two letters of numbers at a time, or the ink would just vanish from the paper causing me to constantly look away to rest my eyes and refocus. I could see to read better in a dimly lite room. The doctor said that it was a possibility that I could grow out of it and thankfully I was blessed to be healed from through a drastic change in my diet by my ninth grade year. I've been working really hard with my teachers and tutors to fill in the holes in my academics and I'm pleased with my improvements.

In closing the unique characteristics I have been told I have blessed with is a Humble Spirit. I enjoying helping and encouraging others shine. I'm easy to coach, because I'm always open to learn more so that I can be more effective on and off the field. I am also a great team leader, and team player, because I strive daily to treat others like I would like to be treated in a fun or stressful situation. And that's with kindness and respect.
