This past school year, I encountered one of my biggest obstacles. I struggled in school and realized I can do better. I surrounded myself with people who didn't value homework and grades, so I made the change to surround myself with those who have the same goals in life I do. However, it took until the end of the school year before I got a tutor and started to turn my academic performance around. Going forward, I will communicate with teachers on a regular basis, continue with my tutor, and utilize online resources to further my positive upward path. As a QB, I have a bigger responsibility to myself and my team to set an example and I take that role seriously.
Football has taught me many things about being a better person and teammate. I have learned how be respectful and coachable to all of those who are trying to help myself and our team succeed in all capacities. After deciding this last year that football is part of my college path, I became motivated and learned to motivate those around me academically and athletically because we all succeed and fail together. I have been attending as many camps as I can to gain multiple coaching perspectives and learn from the other athletes attending.
I want to pursue a degree in Marine Biology and hopefully work with Sharks studying their migration patterns, habits, and profiles. After dissecting sharks for Life Science as an 8th grader, I have been fascinated and Shark Week has become a holiday in my house. I have always had a thrill and adrenaline side that spurs me to want to push myself. Spending my life with these beautiful creatures in the open air is something I strive for.
