Personal Statement
My goal right now is to graduate high school with honors, prepare a plan to do well on my SAT/ACT's and then execute the plan. Once I've accomplished this goal, I'll then set my sights to play collegiate football. I believe my "team first" attitude would make me a desirable candidate for any college team, no matter the division. I want to help contribute to the team's success and I can do so in and out of the classroom. My academic goal is to graduate college with a degree in Sports Medicine, so whatever college I attend must have this program or another program similar to this. From an athletic standpoint, I'm a versatile player. On offense I am the lead back which requires me to run, read the holes properly, take on blocks, catch routes out of the backfield and even lining up in the slot. On defense I have played outside linebacker and defensive end. Even though my current weight wouldn't dictate much success from the DE position, my relentless effort, quickness off the ball, discipline and the desire to make a play outweighs my weight. I also am an intricate part of special teams. On kickoffs, I'm a gunner and on punt team and field goal opportunities, I'm the long snapper. During punt returns, I return punts as well as block for the other returner. I think the thing that would separate me from everyone else is that I love to be coached and love feedback as it makes me a better player as well as learning the life lessons that will make me a better person. Even when emotions run high and things aren't going the way I'd like them to, you have to be able to be coached. If you're not learning something every time out, you're wasting time and opportunity.
