Drake Luginbuhl '14 Recruiting Profile

I have always loved sports, but football is definitely my favorite. My first experience playing football began at age 9 (3rd grade). I played for our Midget Football program through 6th grade, where I received the team’s Offensive MVP award. In Junior High football I played linebacker and wide receiver. In high school I played all 4 years and lettered my sophomore, junior, and senior years. I continued to play linebacker on defense and was moved to tight end on offense.  I was also the kick-off kicker my senior year. My junior year I received honorable mention Northwest conference for linebacker. My senior year I received 1st team Northwest Conference, 2nd team Northwest Ohio linebacker, and honorable mention Lima, Ohio dream team linebacker.  I was voted captain by the team and awarded the team’s Defensive MVP with 103 tackles.

                This game is my passion; every year I’ve played I’ve loved it more. I would like to continue playing at the next level and can guarantee I will give 100% on the field, off the field, in the weightroom, in the films, and in the classroom in order to help the Team succeed. One of my favorite quotes is from Tim Tebow, “Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard”.  One thing that has always been said of me is “I’m coachable”, I personally think there is always room for improvement and hard work will help me to improve.

                Hard work has also paid off for me in the classroom. I currently have a 3.8 GPA and I have a score of 24 on my ACT, I’m scheduled to retake the ACT in Feb. 2014. I have earned college credits in the Post Secondary Program at Bluffton University where I just completed Calculus 1. I’ve been able to balance school and sports in High School and would continue to work hard at a collegiate level, as well.  I am currently interested in studying Exercise Science/Physical Therapy/Athletic Trainer.
