Hello, my name is Joshua Thor Lanier, and I am in my senior year at River Valley High School in, Caledonia, Ohio (Marion County). I play right tackle of a team that has turned their last two seasons around, under the new head coach, Doug Green, and made the playoffs. This past season we had finished our season 10-0 (MOAC Champions), ranked #1 in Region 12. Unfortunately, we lost in the 2nd round of the tournament.
I have grown up mostly in Ohio with a brief 3 year period in the State of Delaware (moving with my Dad’s Job). We moved back to Ohio due to my grandparent’s health. Mom and Dad wanted to be closer to them. I have developed a strong understanding of the importance of family, and I have extended that same importance to my teammates.
I am a hard- worker and willing to do what it takes to put myself and team ahead. I show up early, demonstrate an everyday work ethic, a winning morale, exhibit a sense of responsibility and loyalty to all my teammates, team managers and coaches. My desire is to win the respect of my teammates, team managers and coaches day after day, week after week, season after season. I am always the first to arrive and the last to leave in the classroom, on the field, and in the weight room.
My goal for this coming football season in my Senior Year (2015) is to be in condition physically and mentally enough to go all out (with every fiber of my being) for every play, for a full 10 seconds, until the very last play of the game.
Wanting to improve myself and my game I have attended/participated in the following:
2013 –
-Bucyrus Invitational Lineman Challenge (Team)
-Bluffton College Invitational Lineman Challenge (Team)
-OSU Buckeyes Big Man Skill Camp - June 18 & 19
-Lauren's First & Goal one day Charity Football Camp/Combine - June 22 (Otterbein University, Westerville, Ohio)
2012 – OSU Buckeyes 3-day Camp June 14-16
2011 – OSU Buckeyes 3-day Camp June 17-19
My goals for college are to play football at the highest level of competition possible and go to the best academic school that will help me succeed later in life.
I am also interested in a school with a winning tradition and a "Welcome Home" kind of atmosphere. I am open to any school where my athletic ability can be used to assist the team with winning a National Championship. My commitment to my team as well as my leadership skills allow me to have a strong positive focus with a can-do attitude.
I have been notified hat I have been passed into the "Red Zone" in the Blue Gray football system which is the top 30% of all athletes invited to the regional combine.
I have been invited to the Blue Grey All American North South Game at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Stadium
