Personal Statement
Football has always been a big part of my life. I remember going to my first football practice before going to my first day of kindergarten. The more I played, my love of the game grew and I knew early on that I wanted to play college football someday. To this end, I strive to be the best player I can possibly be in the pursuit of my dream. As a player, I possess the characteristics that every good football player should. I am a team oriented player and love the camaraderie that being part of a football team brings. Working together as a team toward a common goal through the challenges of a football season, for me, provides a sense of fulfillment like no other sport. I understand the importance to the team of being a coachable player that is focused not just on my own individual goals, but also the larger goals of the team as well. I recognize that nothing is given and that everything must be earned and have dedicated myself to becoming the best football player I can be through both team practice and individual work. While I work hard on the field and am extremely focused on football, I also appreciate the academic balance that is so important for a student-athlete. Even though I have known college is in my future for quite some time, I am still undecided on the area of study I will pursue. Nonetheless, a career in law or education both appeal to me and I will be looking to attend a school where these and other academic areas may be explored and potentially pursued. In the meantime, I look forward to representing my high school at the highest of levels both on and off the field for the next three years as I continue toward my goal.
