Personal Statement
My name is Elrico Vincent Alli III, and I go by Ricky. Ricky is my nickname because it is a family tradition. My grandfather, Elrico Vincent Alli I, also goes by Ricky. I am currently attending Gahanna Lincoln High School and I will graduate in the year 2021.
I am a multi-sport athlete and I love what I do. I love to be in the weight room and do a range of different workouts with weights. I am at the top of my class for all of the lifts we do competitively. My max bench press is 310 pounds, my hangclean is 300 pounds, and my squat is 540 pounds. All of these lifts were achieved at a body weight of 180 pounds. During my junior season of high school football, I received Defensive Player of the Week twice in a row. I am the only football player from my school to do so.
I love to play football and I love to wrestle. I love football because it is a team sport that builds accountability, character, and a better mentality. I love wrestling because it helps with my form for football and keeps me in great shape. In wrestling, I can focus on myself and I don’t have to depend on anyone else on the mat. I have been playing football since I was 6 years old, and I started wrestling at the young age of 3. Because of this, I have experienced a variety of different environments and a variety of diverse teammates. I’ve had the opportunity to receive many different coaching styles from multiple different school districts.
My favorite subjects in school are math and science because I am a very logical person. I like to think situations through and work step-by-step. I am also currently enrolled into 2 Advanced Placement classes: AP Economics and AP Calculus AB. My dream is to attend a Division I college or university to play football. While there, I would like to major in Accounting, Economics, Business or the study of Finances. I have this dreambecause my aspiration is to be drafted into the NFL.
