It’s been a dream of mine since a young age to play high level football. However, I never expected to be attempting such aspirations at the kicker position. I chose soccer over football at a younger age due to lack of size, and excelled as a soccer player. My Junior year in high school I decided to kick for the Varsity football team. I showed up and was unable to kick a field goal further than 30 yards when I began. By the end of the season, I hit my first 53-Yard Field Goal in practice. I accomplished this feat due to my determination and desire to become more valuable for my team. I would attend soccer practice after school then attend football practice after soccer to improve my kicking ability after a hard workout. I’m a team-first player and don’t see the importance in personal stats, football is a team sport, not individual. I have attended a kicking camp called TheKickingCoach hosted by Coach Philip Philipovich and experiences a full day of kicking and also learned key aspects in which I can improve my kicking ability, as well as the work ethic required to pursue kicking at the collegiate level. I am fully committed to doing my best to improve the team in any aspect possible. I hope to proceed in my academic and athletic careers at the college level and aid my teammates in improving as athletes, scholars, and most importantly, as people.
