Personal Statement
Introduction
I would like to begin by answering (2) questions:? Sports is the test of a body's physical & motor agility.... What is sports? Sports is the testing & measuring method of one's body's to compel & challenge physical motor agility.... What is school? School is the continuous testing of the mind's intelligence & mental agility....... So, what do both these things mean for me? Well, it means a total body workout; it means using everything I have in me; and it means using total body resilience, strength, passion and 24/7 dedication towards reaching my body's full potential.
Althletic Contribution(s)
Hello, I'm "Cameron F. Evans". ... I wear #85 and play Varsity Football in the position(s) of "Tight End", "Defensive End" & "Wide Receiver" for Northridge High School located in Dayton, Ohio.
I'm extremely versatile as I don't have as many years playing football as some other prospects you may read about. However, at 16 1/2 and standing at 6'6" my body was busy growing, which took a little time to recover all of my coordination, and this recovery superseded my expectations. Furthermore, my physical ability but lack of your more average experience has been one of many components which caused my football coaches to refer to me as "Coachable".
Whether it is during practice or during a game, I keep my lips closed & ears open so I may learn everything my coaches are relaying. I ask for objective opinions from my coaches relating to my performance, and I give my coaches exactly what they ask from me and more. I keep a positive attitude to boost or strengthen the team's moral and I view my team as a family, where everyone needs to play their part for this thing to work, but most importantly---no one is bigger than the 'team'. And, I display loyalty, dedication, perseverance and a diligent approach to not only my team, but to my everyday life.
Currently, my high school football team remains undefeated, and this was the first year in five years that my team made WHIO's "High School Team of the Week" (Sept. 2019).... I can't lie and say that my knack for football wasn't natural, because it was... But, talent doesn't replace hard work and no matter my on-field achievements I remain my value-system of integrity and remaining humble at all times.
College Goals
My goal for college isn't merely passing so I can play football, I have aspirations to graduate with a license in a sports medicine related field or pursuing a career in graphic design.
And, to be honest I'd be lying if I didn't say that my education alongside of the rest of my life career-wise wasn't the most important factor to me.... Players play and soon graduate, but an opportunity to receive a great education is the most priceless thing out of all of this, and the most I could ask for right now.
Leadership
I learned early on that you don't need to be named 'team captain' to be a team leader.... A leader is someone who inspires someone with their actions as a result of leading by example.
I show up to practice two hours early and I'm always the last one to leave. A good leader pushes their teammates to where they want to go, but a great leader pushes their teammates to places they don't necessarily want to go to achieve a common objective , which is something I've always had in me to do.
My team and I pull great strength from each other and like a healthy family this kind of harmony creates an unbreakable bond, and makes us an unstoppable force.
Because if everyone is being pushed to their full potential, certain talent(s) will come out that many didn't know was there and that's how 'the magic' happens. I would do the same, no matter what team I played for, because if you choose me to play for your team, I will protect our team at all times.
Conclusion
Football the #1 watched sport in America, and it is a hallmark sport to the American people and always will be.... From the fans of it, to the players, and their coaches--- it brings everyone together and gathers a sense of community, a chance for families to bond, and friends to celebrate right along with it.
And, even though only one team may win a game----leaving your heart on that field is all any coach could ask for... That's what I plan to do and that's what I will do, so I may make my contribution to this remarkable American sport and possibly be one of many football players who will one day encourage another young man to put in the hard work to match his talent and some day write to you.
Thank you for your time above all, and please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have of me. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to come behind my computer and have the most humbling of opportunities of meeting with you to discuss your interest of me. It would be most worth your valuable time.... Thank you for your strongest consideration.
Respectfully Submitted,
Cameron Evans
