To all respective coaches
My name is Cole Earich and I would like to share my interest in continuing to play football at the collegiate level. I am currently a Junior at Morgan High School in McConnelsville, Ohio. I stand 5'11, weigh 170, and can run a 4.7 40 yd dash. I have been a starter on the Varsity team since halfway through my Freshman year. I earned special mention all MVL defense as a sophomore. The post season awards after the 2016 season include 1st team all MVL defense, 1st team all Eastern District defense, special mention all Ohio defense, Times Recorder Prime Time player defense. I have been blessed with some team awards as well. I was the recipient of the defensive back of the year for 2015 & 2016, MVP for 2016, and named the Bill Rex outstanding Freshman player 3 seasons ago. I pushed myself in the offseason last year to become a stronger player, both physically and mentally, and I continue to push myself on a daily basis in the weight room and with my academics. I will be the first to admit that the extra time spent in the weight room advanced my game during the 2016 season.
Being successful in the classroom comes first. A good education will help pave my future for life after college or football. I am currently undecided in a major, but I have been exploring the engineering field. Currently, I have a 3.8 GPA and will be taking the ACT test in March. I have been able to enroll in dual credit classes offered at Morgan High school where I get credit for my graduation requirements and earn college credits as well. I will looking at schools that will benefit my academic and athletic desires. I realize that I need to have an open mind during this process, and will be looking at a variety of schools large and small. At this time, I would like to begin looking in Ohio and surrounding states. These areas would make it easier for my family to travel, but I am willing to keep an open mind in location.
I am a current member of Key Club, Varsity M club, and current Skills USA officer as Historian. Sports have been a big part of my life and I have participated in soccer, basketball, and track where I have had success as well. I understand the importance of being part of a team, being a good teammate, and being a good role model. I am willing to continue working hard on and off the field, and to have an open mind in the pursuit of continuing my football career. I look forward to starting this journey and appreciate any interest that you may have. I look forwarding to speaking with you.
Sincerely, Cole Earich.
