Personal Statement
I believe that I am a leader on and off the field. I strive to push myself and my teammates to perform to our highest potential. I love the time that I spend with my teammates and consider them family. A dream for me when I was a kid was to be a student athlete in college. Now this is a goal and a priority I work hard for both on and off the field. I am 6’4-265 and play guard/tackle and short snapper. I also play baseball along with football. I always put my team before myself. For example, I started at guard, but was moved to tackle when someone was injured. I’ve never played tackle, but took the challenge and finished the game. I worked in practice and played tackle for 4 weeks. I moved back to guard to finish the season. In summary, I won 1st team all Lake County for guard, second team conference for guard and won second year varsity letter my junior year.
I am planning to pursue a degree in the engineering field. I have a 4.2 GPA in high school and have maintained honor roll every year since middle school. My course load has a heavy emphasis in honors classes. A lot of my teammates turn to me when they are confused or need help with schoolwork or football. I have learned over the years to manage my time efficiently in both the classroom and field. Whether it is working out, practice, or in the classroom doing homework I find the time to balance being a student and athlete. I have learned many of my teammates have very different lifestyles and perspectives that have made me aware and open to diversity which helps to make me a better person and athlete. I believe I have the drive, compassion, talent, leadership and hard work ethic that makes me an excellent prospect to succeed academically in college but also as a collegiate student athlete. It is my dream and desire to play college football while also preparing for a successful career in the future.
