My parents always told me and my sister that we were blessed to be born with a God-given athletic ability and good size They told us that we could use our athletic ability, our size and our intelligence to get a good Education. We were raised to have good morals and to have God in our life. We were taught the difference between dreams and realistic goals. Our parents were volunteer coaches at the Inner-city YMCAs, this gave us the opportunity to be exposed to not just diversity, but lots of skilled athletes to learn from. We always had to work a little bit harder than the other kids are parents did not believe in giving us something that we did not earn. I have an IEP that has allowed me to learn at the same level of my peers. I am allowed a little more extra time and instruction when needed, with the assistance of the IEP I am a second honors Student.
