Colt Briggs ‘13 Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

Sirs, 

My name is Colt Briggs. I am 6’ 1” 265 lbs. I have been playing sports further back than I can remember. I have always excelled in all sports. Being from Ohio, I have many schools here and in surrounding states to consider. I believe I can play football at a very high level. I will play and be happy playing where I fit the best and have the best opportunity in education and sport. I will play in many states and many school sizes. I am very close to my family and need to play where it’s reasonable driving distance in an emergency.  

I plan to pursue a degree in Pre-Med. I am a focused student and have always had good grades. I put as much effort into my studies as I do to my sport. I know friends who have been through Medical School and understand the work involved. 

In football I have always excelled. I am a leader by example on the field, in the classroom and socially. I have been the captain on every level. I do well because I’m always the most prepared player on the field. I spend hours in the weight room, watching film and studying scouting reports. Nobody out tries me ever. I know every players job on both sides of the ball. I am in on every play on defense and 80% of the plays from the offensive side. I communicate well with my Coaches and teammates. I have been called a player coach on the field. My Coaches know that I understand the plan. They trust me to make sure the other 10 guys understand it too. I run a 4.8 40. I am very quick due to reflex and anticipation of what’s going to happen prior to the snap.  I can’t remember ever playing in a game that I didn’t have an impact.

Thank you for considering me for your school. I can pledge to you that you will never have to baby sit me. I will do well in class and be one of the hardest working and easiest players you’ll ever coach.
