Personal Statement
When I was a little kid, I played some YMCA flag football and fell in love with the sport. Although I was in 3 other sports, I was always waiting for football season to start. We moved when I was in 4th grade and I quit playing until the 8th grade because my parents would not allow me to play tackle. Growing up I was always told that I could go places as long as I kept my temper in check. I was always the most aggressive kid on the field or court but sometimes had a hard time separating anger and aggression. Over the past couple of years, with the help of my coaches, I've been able to use my aggression in a more positive way to help my teams.
On a personal note, my dad has influenced me the most. He always told me that as long as I believed I could do something, I could. He made sure that I kept my head up on and off the field, including the classroom. Academically, in both high school and college it is my goal to have an A in every class that I take. Overall it is my goal to have a minimum of a 3.7. I know talent isn't the only thing that matters but it takes a person of strong character and integrity to be a part of a college program. I believe my relentless attitude, work ethic, and leadership skills are what it takes to play at any level.
