Personal Statement
I am Spencer Venus and I am a student-athlete. I am a 6'3", 195lb quarterback from football powerhouse, Morrison, Oklahoma. I have been the starting varsity quarterback for the past three years as a Sophomore,Junior, and Senior and have also started on defense as a safety and corner. As a junior and Co-Captain, I helped lead my team to the State Semi-Finals Championship game. In 2010 I threw for 1653 yards, 21 TD's, and had 500 yards rushing on 99 carries and 5 TD's. I was named to the All-Area Team in 2010. I recently qualified for Schuman's Ultimate 100 Combine in Dallas. I have a 4.0 GPA while taking Advanced Placement classes.
Academics are important to me, but football is my passion. My grandfather, Jim Stanley played for Paul "Bear" Bryant, and coached D-1 college ball (Head Coach Oklahoma State) and in the NFL for more than 40 years. He taught me the game and I inherited his work ethic and determination. I am smart, coachable and will always give 110 percent. I always represent myself and my team in a very dignified manner.
I will play anywhere in the country, where I can continue my education, and continue to play and contribute to a highly competitive football program. Because I am from a small town, I am not getting the national attention I had hope for but know I am capable and ready to play football on any level including D-1.
