Jacob deSmet '17 Recruiting Profile

I feel I am ready and prepared to take on the rigor of an athlete/student. I have maintained a 3.77 GPA throughout my high school career including several dual credit classes in math, business, and agriculture.   I have been a member of National Honor Society and  Future Business Leaders of America where I have placed several times at the district level.  I just recently was awarded senior student of the month for Integrity.  I was also nominated for Oregon Scholar athlete of the the year and All Willamette Valley Player of the year for Football.  Throughout my high school career I have faced challenges in the classroom and on the playing field that I feel have prepared my for the college platform.  I have successfully taken obstacles and turned them into successes that have benefit both myself as well as my teammates.  I am a team player and give 100% in the classroom as well as on the field.  I know how to manage my time in a way that allows for balance between my scholastic and athletic responsibilities.  I understand the importance of teamwork and strive to prepare myself and fulfill whatever task is needed to benefit the team.
