Personal Statement
I have the desire to work hard and to become a great football player. It started when I was younger in Pop Warner football. Because of my size I always had to play with older kids. I had to work hard to stay on the team and earn playing time. I learned that working hard is what makes a great player.
As a freshman, I practiced with the varsity team. The seniors treated me fair and were kind to me. This taught me to respect other athletes and to help my teammates. I really enjoy helping the underclassman on my team, both in the weight room and on the field. I try to set the example by working hard and in return I hope they see me as a leader that they can rely upon.
The same idea of working hard and being competitive applies to the classroom too. I always strive to do my best in school even if the subject is challenging for me. At the same time, I will always try to help the other students. I realize that the things football is teaching me apply to other aspects of my life.
