Growing up in Springfield,Oregon you have a lot of people doubting your ability as an athlete but most importantly as a person. We as a community hear it all the time how students who grow up in Springfield would never amount to anything. However, this was a blessing in disguise as in the past three years my highschool experience has taught me the value and importance of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice and above all else faith. Instead of hanging my head on the possibility of me not being able to amount to anything, I took on the challenge. My family has always been big on education, so that's always been a priority to me, that is something in my control through effort. I am looking for a program that not only will fit me athletically but academically as well to give me the best opportunity to continue my journey to success.
As a kid I struggled with my weight, losing that weight was a personal goal of mine and something I wanted to do for myself. So, I have spent the majority of my life up until this point, working on my health and body. I feel as though this journey has helped me master the art being persistent and disciplined in setting a goal and working to achieve those goals. Not only did I achieve this goal, but it also helped me develop leadership qualities to create a great culture and make an impact on your program, team and inspire others that identify with the same struggles in our community.
