Personal Statement

JUST NAMED 6A DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR- Rivals- //oregonpreps.rivals.com! Just named to the 6A All State Team http:/content.asp?CID=1168693 6A All State Team! All League MVP Defensive Player of the Year. Team MVP. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 270 pounds I am athletic and love the game of football. On the football field I use my strong work ethic and combine it with my aggressive, hard hitting refuse to loose play. I back down from no one, and welcome all challenges. I out work everyone regardless of size. I hit harder and am stronger than my opponents. Don't let others fool you by being taller or bigger. I dominate them in one or one, and most teams have to double me. I am explosion and skilled to get the job done! I love to hit, tackle, block and sack the QB. Nothing makes me more excited than to make the play. I take personal pride in everything I do. I make an impact on every down. That's my job and I do it well!

I started playing flag football, and then in 5th grade began playing Pop Warner. I entered high school as a 5 10 starting quarterback at 225 lbs. Due to my size and strength, my varsity coach gave me an opportunity to move from the Freshman squad (Quarterback position) to the Varsity team-O Line. The only catch was I had to earn a starting offensive line position, or he would not make the move- He game me 2 weeks. I had never played any line positions before, but wanted to give it a shot. Within 1 week I beat out juniors and seniors and earned a starting offensive guard position. Now my senior season, I have played line for 4 years and I have started every game.

My Freshman, Sophomore and Junior season our team won three league titles. My Sophomore year I played Offensive and Defensive tackle, and was our starting punter. the 2008 season (Sophomore) we played for a state championship. I earned 1st team All League, First team All State, and 2nd Team All League Punter

My junior season brought new challenges. As an underclassman I was a co-captain and in more of a leadership position. I was double and triple teamed every game. Coaches game planned around and for me. In addition to playing offensive guard and defensive tackle, I also played fullback. Anytime we needed short yardage or we were in our goal line offense, I moved to fullback caring the ball for many scores and short yardage gain. I loved all of the roles I played and the ma ham I caused on the field, for other players and coaches. This season I developed my game and earned 1st team All League, First Team All State, 1st Team Punter, and All League MVP Defensive Player of the year. I also received votes for the MVP Offensive Player of the year.

This season we have moved to the 6A level. Some speculated our team would not be able to compete, and some were curious how I personally would do. I dominated! I played center and pulled as a guard or tackle on many plays. I move everywhere on the D. Line. I was double and tripled and still getting to the QB and make tackles and huge blocks for my backs. My backs love to follow me and use the holes that open up for them. I'm an athlete, not just a big body. I played fullback as well this year. I carry the ball in short yardage and goal line situations plus we just added a "toss" offensive scheme where I just go to work in the fullback position and lead block and or carry the ball as we power dive down the field from under center. I can turn quickly and get up field. Then gain yards after the tackle while I drag players due to my leg and core strength. Considering we are a shotgun spread offense this definitely gives a different look we can add to our game. I am our punter and on the "hands" special teams. My longest punt so far this yard is 64 yards. I have 11 punts inside the 10, and 6 punts inside the 2. This season I earned 1st team All League, First Team All State, and for the 2nd year in a row, All League MVP Defensive Player of the year and Honorable Mention Punter. It was just announced I am the 6A Defensive player of the year and honored on the 6A All State team. (The only player in the league to not have played in the championship game and have limited exposure to some schools- but my play on the field speaks for itself)

I am a 3 sport varsity athlete. In addition to football, I am a starting varsity basketball player, I throw track and played baseball my freshman year. I love to fish and hunt, hang out with friends, snowboard, and lift weights.
I am a versatile smart football player, giving football programs many options. In college I can contribute on the D and O line, as well as center. My body is built for a college defensive tackle or center position. My skills and intelligence make me a strong offensive guard.

On the football field, I get the job done and more! I do it well and take pride in what I do. I dominate my one on ones, I seek out the biggest, fastest and most skilled to compete against. The problem is some of them avoid me. I am confident that I will win each down and do my job well.

Other than my size, off the football field I am a non assuming person who is comfortable being in the background. I'm not someone who speaks a lot of words, but I am a strong leader. I have a strong sense of right and wrong, and though quiet, will stand up for what is right and speak my mind without hesitation. I do well in school earning a 3.58 GPA, while taking difficult classes including pre-calculus. I am in leadership, member of our cultural cultural liaison team (Cherokee Indian) and a peer group leader. I am hard working, quiet and self assured. I am a leader. I am now involved in the Children's Miracle Network fundraising program. My personal goal is to raise $2000.00 for Children's Miracle Network through our Mr. THS pageant.

I am looking for a school where my abilities and talents can be used and developed. I can be and am a bit nasty on the field. I am looking for a family away from home. My high school football team is a family. I work hard, make others better and hold ourselves accountable for success. Teammates are important to me... I have confidence they have my back and they know I have theirs.

My goal is to play D1. I know I can contribute and develop into a more valuable player, and am open to all opportunities. I am willing to play the position that will be the best fit in the right program. (Most likely Center, Offensive guard, or Defensive tackle) I am very versatile and will give programs a multitude of options. You will NOT find someone who will give you the options I will. I am a complete package. I am 6'2", a lean 270, quick on the field. I am someone who will get the job done and get the job done well.
