Personal Statement
My name is Luke Walsh and i have played sports my entire life. playing sports is one of my biggest passions, i have always enjoyed playing and always will. I like a challenge, so anytime i see that someone is better than me i try to train myself to be just as good or better. I have a very strong upper body, and a pretty strong lower body. i am currently working to improve my lower body strength tremendously. I am a 6'1 220 MLB/Offense Guard, i ran a 5.3 40 at the a Nike football combine in Pittsburgh. i also ran a 5.00 shuttle run,pressed a 6 lb. medicine ball 30ft. and jumped a 23.4 vertical. after these results i realized that i need to work my legs more and so with my off season workout i plan to bring my shuttle and 40 time down by 1/2 a second. and improve my vertical to a 29. I made it onto the academic team, i also got most improved player and lettered my junior year. When it come to lifting, speed training, or any kind of exercise i am dedicated to be good at it and improve at it. I listen to my coaches and play to the best of my ability. I will apply for financial aid; even when i do eventually get a job i will need money to help pay my way through college. I have always liked to play college football; i would play for any division, my philosophy has always been that i believe that i am a above average athlete in my area and at my school, but i would relish the chance to be able to play with a 4A school compared to my 1A school just to see where i stand with competition at that level. I know that those levels of competition are harder than mine but as i said before i love a challenge. I believe i am going to major in the medical field or do something with computers; but things can change. I plan on going to a 4 year school and if I do and if I'm good enough to play my freshman year then great, but if i have a year to improve and become even better then i will do that and come out the next year ready to be as explosive as i can on the field and crush anyone who opposes me. I have only played MLB for 1 year and have enjoyed more than any other position on the field. but i am capable of playing the D line and O line. My school is Penns Manor High School and is Located in Clymer Pennsylvania. It's actually located about 6 miles outside of the town Clymer.
