My parents always tell me that playing sports is supposed to be the fun part of my life, but doing well in school is above everything because it will define my future. I know how important it is to keep a good balance between academics and sports and I feel I am successful with both.
I have loved football for as long as I can remember. As a very young boy I have many happy memories of watching professional football with my grandfather. I was 8 years old when I began to play football and through the years, playing sports has taught me the importance of dedication, respect and a positive attitude.
I also love lifting and conditioning to prepare for the season. At the age of 13, I won first place in my division at the RAMS Power Day lifting competition with a maximum bench press of 285 lbs. In August 2014, I was the first Freshman in the history of Danville Area High School to earn a spot on the Ironmen weightlifting record board by bench pressing 225 lbs for 15 reps.
As the 2014 football season began, I did not have a starting Varsity position. I continued to work closely with my Defensive coach to become the player he needed me to be. Half way through season, I earned my starting role as an inside Linebacker (as a Freshman). I was also voted Defensive player of the game by MaxPreps during my first game.
I am interested in two job professions, Sports Medicine and Astronomy. At this point I'm not sure which career I'm going to choose, but I know that I will keep working hard in school so I can go to the college of my choice. I plan to keep an open mind for college options so I can find the best academic fit.
