Personal Statement
My name is Zach Dlugos. My parents, who were both athletes and remain active today, always emphasized how multiple sports can and should be an important part of a healthy lifestyle. As a result, I have competed in many different sports including baseball, basketball, track & field, karate, and football. Of these, my football has always been my favorite sport! My dad, two uncles, and grandfather all played Division 1 college football and I couldn't wait to be old enough to play. I started playing flag football in first grade, but when I was finally allowed to play tackle football in sixth grade, it fit me perfectly! I am a very physical and aggressive player with speed and love tackling people as well as running the ball. I have been confident in my excellent physicality and mental toughness since this first experience playing football, which was confirmed to be true after I earned a starting varsity role early in my freshmen season and have been recognized as an all-conference player every year I've been in high school. Along the way, I have learned that sports, especially football in my opinion, help to strengthen the bonds between people and help to prepare someone to live a happy and successful life just as much as school or community service. I hope to maintain a GPA at or above a 4.0 through high school and I want to go to a college that will set me up to succeed in life well beyond my time in organized sports. However, no matter the outcome, I love the game and will always see the unlimited benefits that come with playing football and am thankful for every chance I have to take the field.
