I'm Zach Dlugos. I have two amazing parents who have always supported me in my endeavors and emphasized how sports can and should be an important part of a healthy lifestyle. As a result, they have exposed me to many different sports including baseball, basketball, track & field, karate, and football. With my recent success in high school varsity football as a freshman, I have become focused on continuing my football career at the college level. I have always loved football more than any other sport. My dad, two uncles, and grandfather all played Division 1 college football and my mom played basketball and ran track in high school. Besides the importance of staying physically active, the experiences they had playing sports are something I am focused on earning for myself. When my dad first exposed me to tackle football in sixth grade, I learned that I am a very physical player with speed and love tackling people as well as running the ball. I have been confident in my excellent physicality and mental toughness since this first experience playing football, which was confirmed to be true after I earned a starting varsity role early in my freshmen season and finished second on my football team in tackles while also earning honorable mention All-Conference honors. Along the way, I have learned that sports, especially football in my opinion, help to strengthen the bonds between people and help to prepare someone to live a happy and successful life just as much as school or community service. I hope to maintain a GPA at or above a 4.0 through high school and I want to go to a college that will set me up to succeed in life well beyond my time in organized sports. However, no matter the outcome, I love the game and will always see the unlimited benefits that come with playing football and am thankful for every chance I have to take the field.
