Personal Statement
I am David "Andrew" Nelson and I am a junior at Hershey High School. Football is my main sport and I currently play left tackle and defensive end. However, something I feel that adds to my football resume is the fact that I have played many positions through the years. Along with the two positions mentioned above, I have played guard, center, fullback, tight-end, defensive tackle and linebacker. I feel I am a versatile player, but just as importantly I am a team player and I am willing to play wherever the team needs me. I love the game enough that as long as I am on the field I am having fun. I think I have grown into the two positions I play now; as I have grown to 6'5" and 265 pounds. One of my strongest attributes is that I can still move well for how big I am. I ran a 4.73 forty at my high school combine and I won the offensive/defensive lineman agility award at a team camp with 15+ teams competing there.
I have started both my sophomore and junior years, and I attribute that to a lot of the work I do off of the field, from an hour of stretching to film study to explosive sports training. Along with my football training, I work hard in the classroom. I am currently maintaining a 3.61 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Looking to the future, I would love to continue to play football at the next level and play at the highest level of competition that is right for me. I would like to try and stay in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic States area, but I am open to anything if the right opportunity presents itself.
