Luke Shaffer '11 Recruiting Profile

I was selected as one of the top 50 Running back/Safeties by RIVALS.COM FOR the class of 2011. I am A very fast (4.35 forty), 5'11 205 RB/DB who can run,return kicks, catch, tackle,and cover. My fastest forty was a 4.35 at Toledo University camp in June/2010, A 4.38 at Ohio University June 2010, a 4.41 at Univ of Pittsburgh in June/2010, a 4.39 at Cincinnatti University July 2010. My best shuttle was a 3.90. The best vertical that I had was a 35.5 inch vertical.I am a fanatical weight room and speed trainer. My bench max is 350 pounds,my squat max is 465 pounds,Power clean 320 pounds, all three are all time records at my High School. My favorite player is Tim Tebow. My most important accomplishment as a football player was that I have helped my team win for 3 years while making 1st team all conference as a Sophmore and Junior running back. I have over 3,400 all purpose offensive yards the last two years. Some of my College athletic goals are to earn playing time as soon as possible and help my team win. My speed and strength goals next year are to run a 4.28 forty,bench 400 pounds and squat 500lbs. I think leadership and having good fellowship with your teammates makes the football team better. I will do my best to be a great leader on my football team. There are many other intangible things that I can offer to a football program. I am a very hard worker and will never give up no matter what. The most important traits that I have is my work ethic, competitiveness, and motivation. I also add great speed/strength to a football program and I will play anywhere the coach wants me to play. I would love to play football in the south but any college that is interested in me I am interested in them. I will play anywhere for anybody. I am really interested in playing College Football. That has always been my dream and I work hard everyday to make myself a better athlete and a better person to achieve that goal. My family does have financial need.
