My senior year of high school football was a key moment in my life. I made the tough decision of leaving my high school Lansdale Catholic and transferred to North Penn because of the new learning environment created by the Co-vid Pandemic. When I reached out to The North Penn football coach, I will never forget being told that I was not welcome on the team as they were not accepting transfers. After many days of discussion, I was permitted on the team. The first three weeks were tough and I remember not even being allowed to go on scout team. My whole life I dreamed of playing Varsity Football. I got a taste with Special Teams as a Sophomore. I had a little more time my Junior year at Lansdale Catholic, eventually working my way to starting at Outside LB/SS. But now I couldn't even show what I could do in practice to earn a chance for playing time. The day of our first game, I received a call that the team needed a long snapper. I hadn't long snapped since pop warner, but went to the try out anyway, just for the chance to get on the field for my Senior Year. I was full of nerves, but all of my snaps were right on, well at least, no catastrophes. It was a disappointing game as we lost, but as we started practice the following week, coach decided to give me a chance. I was actually allowed to really practice. Two weeks later against CB West I got my shot at a position coaches would find unorthodox for somebody my size - MLB. I played a good game but still missed two tackles. I kept the job for the rest of the year and had a pretty impressive season. Somehow I found a way to make a decent five game highlight tape with only three games of film.
On the football field I’m not the flashy player. I’m one of the guys that sets up the long run. I’m the guy that catches a pass to put my team in field goal range for the winning field goal, or I’m the guy you put on special teams because you know at the end of the day he’s making a play.
My work in the classroom is similar to how I am on the field. I might not be the smartest person in my classes but I work hard to keep my grades as high as I can. As of right now I have a solid B average in all of my classes. For college I plan to study for a degree in personal training.
