Personal Statement
One of the goals I set for myself last year was to become a two-way starter in our AAAA football program. I accomplished that goal by earning a starting position at both TE and DE. And I am so proud of the accomplishments of my team – going from unranked to #9 in the state of Pennsylvania. I will always remember the excitement of getting to play in the PA AAAA State Quarter Final game. Additionally, I am very pleased in the way I was able to contribute on both sides of the ball, averaging about 100 plays every game. It was a great season!
I have two college goals – get a degree in civil engineering, statistics, finance or economics, and play at the highest level of football that I can. But this isn’t just about football for me. I am looking for the school that will give me the education and experiences to help prepare me for a great life.
I am very goal-oriented and motivated and strive to be the best on and off the field. I currently have a weighted GPA of 3.8 (4.0). I have been accepted into the National Honor Society.
I’m working hard to balance football and academics. My high school, Cumberland Valley, has a tradition of football excellence. We also have a tradition of academic excellence and variety of courses. I am college prep focused. This year, I am taking two AP classes (Physics and Statistics) and an honors Computer Aided Drafting class.
I love competition – that is the main reason why I want to play college football. I truly enjoy playing football, including the physicality of the sport, the teamwork required, and the friendships I have made and will keep forever. I want to play football in college because I really want to challenge myself at the next level. Although it will be hard to balance playing an intercollegiate sport and staying on top of my academics, I am hopeful that I will be ready for that challenge. I feel so much better when I am focused on a team sport - whether it is during the football season or in the off-season.
