Personal Statement
At the age of 12 I made a commitment to the weight room and to bettering myself both physically and mentally. 5 years later and I am still holding myself accountable to fulfilling that commitment. I believe that success during the season is dependent upon what is done in the off season. Football isn’t just a 3 month a year sport. It’s a year round sport that allows you to show over 3 months just exactly what you’ve been doing over the other 9 months of the year.
My commitment to academics is just as important as my commitment to football. I believe that whether in the classroom, on the field, in the weight room or in the community, my work ethic, commitment to myself and my team is a direct reflection of who I am as a person and I strive to always represent myself in the most positive light.
I currently am a dually enrolled high school student working towards obtaining an Associates Degree. I maintain a 4.0 GPA and am currently ranked 7th in my class.
I envision my college years to be a personal growth period. My goal is to explore a science major that will position me well for medical school. On the field, I plan to be a dynamic player and positive influence on the team. As I grow both physically and mentally throughout my college football career, I will strive to be an asset to the team as both a player and a leader. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the field, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches and the school I attend.
