My name is Daniel Steskal, and I am currently a junior at Palmyra Area High School. I pushed myself hard in the weight room last year and earned myself a starting varsity spot my sophmore year. I am a versatile player, and I will play whatever position my team needs me to play to the best of my ability. My junior year I played center for the first time, and while I prefer to be on the line hitting and wrapping but it was what my team needed so I learned the position and I'm glad I now have that experience. I worked hard last year and made the honor roll but I am struggling with my hybrid schedule this year. It is a challenge, but I am committed to improving my grades and learning to be versatile as a student as well as an athlete. I started wrestling for the high school team for the fist time this year. I thought I would hate it, but it turns out I really like wrestling and the discipline that comes with it. Wrestling is keeping me in shape for my senior football season and I am really enjoying the experience. I never thought I would like wrestling, but I have a new respect for the sport. I want to be the best I can be both on and off field, and I'm willing to put in the work to make that happen. I want to major in accounting or actuarial science and I am hoping I can find a college to do that where I can also continue my football career because I enjoy playing and can't imagine taking my helmet off for the last time.
