Personal Statement
Sports have played a significant role in my life. Growing up I enjoyed playing year round including baseball, ice hockey and football. I was lucky enough to have experienced competing on teams outside of my own neighborhood. This gave me the opportunity to meet and make friends with athletes from a variety of backgrounds and neighborhoods. I believe it was this experience that helped me prepare for the high school classroom and athletic field. It was my freshman year of high school that was a turning point for me both in the classroom and on the field. The demanding schedule of being a 3 sport student athlete was something I was not prepared for and I had to find a way to balance the schoolwork, workouts, practices and games. I quickly learned hard work, time management, and discipline was the way to excel and succeed. I have also found that at Roman Catholic High School my teachers and coaches work together to ensure my success. Playing football at Roman I have learned that there is always more to learn and ways to improve myself and that my successes comes from me: my desire and drive.
My current goal in the off season is to add mass, work on my footwork and speed. I am pushing myself so that I will be the starting Varsity O Line /Long snapper and defensive tackle.
I would like to attend a college with a great atmosphere where I can continue the balance between the classroom and the football field. I am open to different types of schools although I prefer one with a stable, well established, competitive football program and courses in which I can major in IT/Computer Programming. I will consider all opportunities.
