Personal Statement
My Name is Bryan Mellon and I am currently a senior at Nativity BVM High School in Pottsville, PA. I plan on attending college in the Fall of 2012. I am asking that you consider me for a spot on your 2012 roster.
I have been playing football since the fifth grade. During my junior year, I have accidently stumbled upon punting but now I would like to continue to play that position at the collegiate level. I have averaged 43.5 yards per punt during my junior year and 45 yards per punt during my senior year. I believe that I can do even better with the additional training and coaching. I was also given the opportunity to play quarterback in my senior year. I’ve been called on numerous times to fake punt/pass on fourth downs.
The Nativity Green Wave Football team had a very successful season. We were able to clench a spot in the Eastern Conference Playoffs (Class 1) but unfortunately fell short of our aspiration for the championship in the final game.
My accomplishments include junior year being named All County FIrst Team Punter and for my Senior Year, All County FIrst Team Punter, All American Conference FIrst Team Punter and Honorable Mention for Quarterback. I also tied for first place with the highest number of touchdown passes(5) in a single game in the County.
