Personal Statement
My name is Alec Vera and I am the second year starting senior QB for the Quakertown Panthers. I played football since I was 5 and almost decided not to play my sophomore year to focus on baseball until injuries happened in the early season which made me join the team two weeks into the season. Luckily for me, the coaches held another tryout and within five days of being in pads I was playing under the lights at the varsity level. What a humbling experience it was for me! I knew I missed football deeply, but I thought I would have to wait until next year to play again. My junior year was a different story as I prepared myself for the season by going to five summer camps, had a lifting program intact and went to speed camp. I tried to better myself coming off a 1-11 season my sophomore year. Last year Quakertown had a 7-5 season and we won some very important games. I am fully committed to playing this sport and I hope I can be a big part of helping Quakertown win our division. I will be the best I can be working hard everyday to make myself stronger and smarter. Over the summer I attended various camps and I lifted and participated in a speed camp in the off season. My future goals are to help my team become a better team and to have the most successful years to come ahead of me. I would love to play at the college level and have the utmost competition before me.
Sincerely,
Alec Vera
