Personal Statement
My name is Jeff Fleming and I am entering my Senior year at Deer Lakes High School in Western Pennsylvania. I play wide receiver and quarterback, but my primary position is strong and free safety and I would like to play football in college and earn a scholarship. Over the last two years, I have participated in speed camps and sports performance training programs to help further my physical ability. I see myself as an excellent athlete who plays the game of football with a lot of passion and intensity. My work ethic and leadership abilities are first class. I feel that during my next two years of high school football, I will continue to excel and become better as an athlete and football player.
I think that my academic ability sets me apart from many other student-athletes. I am an excellent student and I continue to excel in the classroom. I maintain excellent grades and I am a member of GATE (Gifted and Talented Enrichment Program), a club at school that selects a few stand-out students that meet exceptionally high academic standards. I feel that academics will be a key factor in my decision of choosing a college.
Attending college is a top priority for me. I feel that in today's world a college education is absolutely necessary. I will do whatever it takes, with as much hard work as needed, to achieve my goal of attending college. A scholarship would be a great benefit to me whether it is academic or athletic. I am quite confident that I have the ability to play football at the next level and all the necessary tools to be an outstanding college student-athlete, as well as an upstanding leader and beneficial contributor to society.
