Elijah McRae '24 Recruiting Profile

I want to use this personal statement as the opportunity to express my passion and commitment to the game of football as well as my aspirations to take my skills and dedication to the next level and make a significant impact on my own life but also the lives of others. 

The intensity and strategic nature of football has become more and more captivating for me with every snap I take on the field. From the thrill of executing a flawless play to the surge of adrenaline while making a tackle, each aspect of the game has fueled my desire to excel and push myself beyond my limits. My current position as a defensive end has allowed me to fully embrace the physicality and mental acuity required to overcome the opposition. 

I am excited to look for an opportunity to earn my place with a program that shares my values, work ethic and commitment to excellence and will provide a platform that emphasizes integrity, discipline, hard work and the expectation of personal growth. 

Off the field, I want to pursue my education with the same level of intensity that I bring to the football field. I believe that a well-rounded student-athlete is not only defined by their athletic accomplishments but also their ability to excel academically and to also contribute positively to their community. I enjoy and understand the importance of carrying myself on and off of the field with character, integrity and discipline in every aspect of my life.
