Jake Tkach '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6' linebacker/tackle senior playing my third year of varsity for West Mifflin Area High School in Pennsylvania. Our team finished 5-4 this past season and we made it to the first round of playoffs. We had a entirely new coaching staff and ran a completely different defense than last year, however, I fell that I had a very successful defensive year,playing middle linebacer. We haven't received our final stats yet but I had approx 40 solo tackles, and probably as many assists, and approx 5 sacks. Playing linebacker and defense is my passion. I am undecided for a major at this time, but I love the hunting and being outdoors and am considering wildlife management, or environmental,mechanical or civil engineering for my major area of studies. I am looking for a college where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the field. I believe that my best fit would be at a DI or DII level, but will consider all opportunities.
