When I think of what I can bring to a team, there are a few key points that I can think of. First, I want to explain what type of player I am. One of the main reasons that I love football is that I have the ability to hit people. I am a player who loves contact. I look at my playstyle as tough, hard-hitting, downhill, as well as some finesse. I play Strong Safety, but I also am able to come into the box as a Nickel player especially on tight formations such as 21 personnel. I have a nose for the ball especially in the run game, and most importantly, I am not afraid to come up and make plays.
Aside from the way I play, I can bring much more to a team. The first way, being that I am a hardworker. No matter what my role or job is, I strive to do that job one hundred percent. From a young age, I have always had the skill and it carries on to this day in school, sports, or anything else in which I have to do. I know that I am not the biggest or most athletic person in my whole recruiting class, but I am a firm believer of the phrase, "hard work beats talent." The way I look at it, if I am the hardest worker in the room or field, then when I meet an opportunity, I will be prepared. An example of this was when I went through a tough and long injury that ultimately took my sophomore year of football away from me. It was easy just to hang up the cleats and move on, but my love of football is so strong, that I took on the challenge and worked for months to get back to being fully healthy and earned a starting spot.
Along with this, I am also very coachable. I take pride in improvement. By this, I mean that every person can continue to learn and get better. I know that I do not know everything and that there is always a better technique or a way of doing things. By being coachable, I am able to put any pride aside and listen to what my coaches are teaching me and use that to improve. I love the idea of learning new things, especially in football because every team or coach does things differently, and if I am able to take things that I learned from all of those different teams and coaches I have played for, then that just sets me up for success in the future. These attributes are some of the most important foundations to myself not only as a football player, but also as a person.
