Personal Statement

I am a Junior at Wyomissing Area High School in Berks County, PA. I am a leader both in the classroom and on the field, currently ranked 17 out of 178 students with a 4.69 GPA. I continue to challenge myself in honors and AP classes, and it is important to me that I do my best to achieve the goals I set for myself. Most recently, I wanted to play lacrosse at the higher level, and as a result of my strong work ethic, "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard," I earned a starting position on the Varsity Lacrosse team as a Freshman. I was awarded that year Honorable Mention and Rookie of the Year. In fact, I continued to improve my skills to the degree that I was honored with a position to play D/LSM for a nationally recognized lacrosse team (Dukes LC from the Philadelphia area) as well as All County honors as a Sophomore. I am currently a D1 lacrosse recruit however football is my passion. On the football field, as a 6'1'' 175 lb Sophomore, I earned two starting positions at both RB and DB on the Varsity team. Our team had a 9-3 record and defeated the #1 ranked AA team in the state during our second game in Districts. During the off season I worked very hard and continued to improve. As a Junior I am now 6'3'' 215 lbs, striving for excellence at my postons as RB and SS. This attitude has been contagious and has translated to a very sucessful season for our team. As a rising senior and team captain I strive to set an example  for my teammates, showing them that it's not only cool to score touchdowns, but to ace exams. Representing the student athletes at my school, teachers are aware of the great benefit athletics contribute to educating a well-rounded student. I am looking for a fairly selective college or university in any geographic location, as I have highly supportive parents. I plan to pursue a major in the sciences, although I am open-minded to opportunities that would continue to build my character, while athletics will teach me many life lessons. Becoming an exemplary student-athlete is my dream.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
