Personal Statement

I come from a state where if you go to college to play sports your known through out the entire state. RI isn't the biggest state but sure has a lot of good competitors. I recently went up to Rutgers for a 7 on 7 tournament and the team was picked by coaches in the state. The kids that were on the team were the top players of the class of 2011. Three Quarterbacks went up including me and we faced talent from all over the region including the top players from Virginia and Delaware. Two other kids from my high school and I got to ride with the coach and he said out of all the QB's (one of them is being highly recruited) I was the easiest one to coach. I follow directions very well and lead by example. I don't like to loose and just love being around the game/environment of football. I would love to play D.1a football and believe you can do anything if you strive hard enough for it. But realistically I can see my self playing D.2 or D.1aa football. I'm not the tallest guy but you can bet I'm one of the toughest on the field at all times. My sophomore year I transferred out of Bishop Hendricken High School where I was a running back. I've played Quarterback my entire life except for my freshman year. When I went to Cranston East I was told I'd be the Quarterback for the next three years of my high school career. It was like a dream come true to be able to play the position I love so much. As a sophomore I ran the offense well but wasn't a dominating force because I was running the spread for the first time. Then my Jr. Year I was taken by a surprising lower back injury that had really taken away from my mobility. But instead of being depressed I looked at the up side and when things broke down in the pocket I used my arm instead of my feet which really helped my pocket presence. I still managed to only miss one game and have 17 touchdowns all together. I would love to go to a college that has great weather year round but I am definitely open to staying around New England and will play and go anywhere. At the banquet we recently had for the 09 season I was voted team Captain for the 2010 football season. On top of football I've also excelled in baseball. Starting as a sophomore on the varsity level in center field and leading off as well. After football ended, I healed up fast and have not had a problem with injuries since.
