Zachary Gendreau '11 Recruiting Profile

Let me introduce myself, My name is Zach Gendreau, I am a senior and I have just finished my High School football career in Narragansett RI.I am 5' 10" and weigh 215 lbs. I am a team co-captain and a leader and mentor to the younger players. I am a physical tough football player and a thoughtful compasionate man off of the field. I was named the Thanksgiving Day Defensive MVP for the second consecutive year, I recieved the providence grid iron award for defensive MVP,I was selected 1st team all division by the RI coaches, I was chosen as first team all conference by the SRI newspaper group for the second consecutive year, As a junior I was selected 3rd team all state by the Providence Journal. I have played many positions in my career. I primarily played Linebacker and Fullback the past two seasons but I also was on special teams, played down lineman,Defensive End, Center and both right and left Guard and Tackle. My goals for the remainder of 2011 are #1 to graduate with grades that will allow me to enter college, and #2 to secure a 4 year college commitment that will allow me a chance to play ball! When described by my coaches they say "he just gets to the ball!" I never let being outsized, double teamed, or not being as fast stop me from making the play. I use my strength, brains, and technique, to get the job done. I would prefer a school in the North East or east coast but I am open to the best opportunity I am presented. I am thinking about physical therepy or phys. ed. or possibly a teaching degree as a major but that is still not 100% decided yet. I feel as though I can have an immediate impact for whatever team/ school gives me an opportunity to play.
