Personal Statement
I'm a perfectionist, an athlete, a bowler, and a hard worker. Since day one I knew I loved football. It has always been a passion of mine and I always strive to be a leader on the field. Being raised by just my mother, she made sure to instill the most important values during my life. Watching my mother sacrifice and struggle through challenges during my childhood taught me a valuable lesson about what it means to work hard and push through the obstacles without giving up. I have been blessed with my talent and as my mother always told me, "Son you have been given a God given talent and it would be a shame to see you waste it, so use what God gave you and do the best you can."
I realize throughout life there will be obstacles to overcome. I have had some challenges thrown at me that I have overcome, but with determination and perseverance it has been an opportunity to become a stronger, smarter and faster player on the field. Being optimistic is a key component in success. I haven't run the ball since middle school, but I would love nothing more than to get back to it. Which ever side of the football I'm on I'll give it my all and work to make my teammates better.
Being a leader on the field is just as important as being a leader in the classroom. Working to achieve good grades is just as hard as practicing for football. Also always working to my keep GPA up. Becoming a doctor is something I've wanted for a long time and I'm willing to work hard and do whatever it takes to achieve it.
I want to attend a college that I can push myself and work just as hard on the field as I do to acquire my degree. I don't want to be someone's next defensive end, I want to be the best defensive end they've ever had. I want to be the guy they call on when they're 4th and 1 and looking for that first down, or sitting on the goal line looking to punch it in. I fight for what I want and never give up. I never back down from a challenge.
