Personal Statement
I truly love the game football and the ability to compete against great competition on every single play. Being an offensive linemen makes me a great team player and I derive great satisfaction out of making a block that will allow a teammate of mine to make a great run. My goal is to play collegiate football at the highest level and help my team have success and while doing so, obtain a degree in Biology, so that after my football days are over, I can pursue a career in the marine science field.
Whether it is off season weight training, spring practice or fall practice, I am typically the first guy in the locker room and the last to leave. At the end of every practice I will always shake the hand of my coaches and thank them for taking the time to help me and my teammates improve.
I am versatile and have played both tackle and guard and on a few occasions have been used as a center. As a tackle, I can pass set and keep defensive ends from turning the corner or with my size and strength I can withstand a bull rush by a defensive linemen. At the guard position, I can pull or I can chip and get to the next level. I am smart and always know what the snap count is. In my first two years of playing high school football I have yet to have a false start call against me.
During the course of my Junior year, I was presented with the Leadership Award for our team which recognized not only my contributions on the field but what I was able to accomplish off the field in the community and in the classroom.
I am currently in the National Honor Society at James Island High School and while in middle school I volunteered to assist in Special Education classes for kids with Down Syndrome. I also, routinely show up for any community service functions that my high school coach asks our team to participate in.
At the end of the day, if I am able to play at your college or university, you will get a dependable person of high character and moral fortitude who will show up day in and day out and give everything he can for the sake of the team. I truly would be a great representative of any university and a great asset to any team.
