Jalen Hunter '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jalen Hunter. I'm a 6'2", 285 lb. senior defensive tackle/offensive lineman for the Seneca Bobcats (Seneca, SC). I have three years of varsity football experience. As a senior, I was honored to be named defensive Captain of the team, and I was selected to the North roster for the North/South All-Star Game - to be played December 11, 2010 in Myrtle Beach, SC . I was selected as an offensive lineman, despite this being my first year playing OL at the varsity level. In addition, I was named to the Western 3A All-Region team as a junior. I live with my mom, a single parent who has taught me from childhood to always be respectful and to work hard for what I want. My father, uncle, and older cousin are all college graduates and they (along with my mom and many others) have stressed the importance of obtaining as much education as I can. One of the best things in my life is God because without him none of the opportunities I have now would be possible. I have always loved the game of football and I work everyday to get better. One thing that is very important to me is image because I feel that is something I can always control. I'm very close to my family so my preference is to attend college in the Southeast, but if the right opportunity presented itself me and my family would give it serious consideration. I take academics very seriously and I try my best to make the best grades I can, so I'm looking for institutions with good academic reputations. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to play the game I love at the highest competition level possible.
