Personal Statement
3-0. That doesn't sound like much, but for a program that had a recently suffered a 36 game losing streak, 3-0 felt awesome. I was a freshmen playing varsity, and with the starting kicker out with injury, the entire kicking game relied on me. Being able to start off my varsity football career this way was incredible and I knew I had found my niche. While I have played a number of sports in my life and continue to play varsity basketball and soccer, football has been the sport I have most enjoyed.
While I am seeking a football program with a character-based culture, a major focus of mine is a sound academic institution. My future plans at present include graduate level studies. Therefore, I want to be part of an institution that will prepare me for the next level academically. My involvement in other extra-curricular activities in high school, such as Student Government, Boy Scouts, and even chorus, have combined with sport to improve my abilities in leadership, problem-solving, and time management.
I hope that my athletic ability, combined with my variety of other activities and experiences, have made me the kind of player and person that will be a benefit not only to a football program but to the institution as a whole.
