Personal Statement
As running back, I have had around a 1,000 yards a year rushing. My junior year, we struggled with low numbers and injuries. Mid-year, my coach realized I could throw the ball too. Although I struggled with being a quarterback, I learned a lot about leadership, and keeping the team up to keep playing, even when we were down. I focused on getting our number of players up going into my senior year. We had open fields all summer long.. I went to people’s houses to give rides to the field. We only had 3 seniors this yearn the team, but we led a tough season, keeping our morale up.
Coming from a small school, I have played in many positions on both offense and defense. Although my preferred position would be wide receiver, I could fill many spots on your team.
I want to continue with football by coaching after college. I am going to school to be a teacher, and want to teach elementary or middle school.
I do a lot of community service, going to the grade school to read to classes, refereed at the grade school wrestling tournaments, refereed middle school football, and did food drives for community action. My favorite community service, though was coaching flag football for students in 2nd through 5th grade. We started the year by losing every game, but ended up winning the year end tourney. Definitely the highlight to me year!
I am a multi-season athlete. There is no off season for me! I participate in track, rodeo, baseball, and wrestling. Many times, I play baseball, while in track, getting ready for the rodeo season. Our football team made the playoffs 3 out of the 4 years I was in high school. I went to state last year in wrestling, and have went to state 3 years in track, looking for the 4th this year.
